With its Responsible investment approach in place, supported by the launch of responsible investments funds more than 5 years ago, fdp (Professionals’ Financial) has just taken another important step in its positioning with regard to ESG considerations.
Indeed, the firm has just formalized its adherence to the Principles for Responsible Investment of the United Nations, thus allowing it to obtain the renowned designation of PRI Signatory.
By obtaining this designation, fdp joins more than 4,600 organizations around the world that have publicly demonstrated their commitment to investing responsibly.
Why adhere to the Principles for Responsible Investment?
A global initiative launched in 2006 by investors in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact, the Principles for Responsible Investment works with an international network of signatories to apply six key principles for responsible investment.
The PRI signatories, of which fdp is now a part, are recognized as the first global network of investors who commit to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into their investment process and the management of financial securities.
“By becoming a PRI Signatory, we are taking another concrete action in terms of Responsible Investment aimed at supporting our global strategy related to ESG considerations, underlines François Landry, Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer. We will thus be able to contribute in a more concrete way to creating an impact on our community and to meet the expectations and concerns of our customers, prospects and employees who care about the various issues that could threaten the future of our company. »
Adhering to these Principles undoubtedly represents an important commitment for fdp and will support the firm in its corporate strategy in the face of environmental, social and governance issues.
About the Principles for Responsible Investment
The PRI initiative is the world’s leading responsible investment initiative. It strives to understand the implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors for investments and supports its international network of signatory investors in integrating these factors into their investment decisions and position holdings. The PRI initiative acts in the long-term interests of its signatories as well as the financial markets and economies in which they operate and, ultimately, the environment and society.
