Dr. Marie-Claude Desjardins holds a Doctorate in dentistry from the Université de Montréal (2004) and an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke (2013). She is pursuing studies in corporate governance as part of the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés’ university certification program, with a view to obtaining the Administrateur de sociétés certifié (ASC) (chartered director) designation.
For many years, Dr. Desjardins has served on various boards of professional and non-profit organizations. In 2018, she became a member of the board of directors of the Association des chirurgiens dentistes du Québec (ACDQ), which represents more than 4,300 dentists across the province. She was elected president of the ACDQ in November 2024. In this role, Dr. Desjardins acts as official spokesperson to the provincial and federal governments, as well as to the media.
In addition to her director responsibilities, Dr. Desjardins was a clinical lecturer at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Dentistry for over fifteen years. A committed professional, she also devotes part of her time to various organizations, where she draws on the experience she has acquired in governance and strategic planning. She continues to practise dentistry in her own clinic in Blainville.
